The Dazzler can sing!
In 2004 the Dutch football team decided to record a song as an extra for the Worldchampionship that year. 8 professional dartplayers were found to give the song 'that extra kick'. Darryl Fitton, Martin Adams, Tony O'Shea, Andy Fordham, Raymond van Barneveld, Co Stompé, Rick Hofstra and Vincent van Der Voort all gave their best in the background vocals.
An oché in the Ajax-footballarena
Co Stompé and Darryl Fitton played eachother during halftime of the friendly football match between the Dutch and the English national teams on the 15th of november 2006 .
Both Stompé and Fitton were busy training for the Lake Side 2007, the unofficial world championships of darts. Co and Darryl were accompanied by a supporter they pickes out of the audience themselves.
SBS6 dartscommentator and mastercaller Jacques Nieuwlaat did the introduction and lead the match. This new form of entertainment was a real succes. The football match ended in a draw: 1:1 while England beat Holland (heavy) with the darts.
The idea of combining the match came from Darryl Fitton and was arranged and organized by the Football Union and the Chiel van Praag Groep, that had both Stompé as Fitton under contract.
